Joining DG was the easiest decision I’ve made during my time at Barnard. I’m surrounded by the funniest women on campus who never fail to impress me. Our extensive alumni network has granted me so many professional opportunities for which I am so grateful. Joining DG introduced me to my two roommates, Fiona and Maria Luiza, and other lifelong friends like Madeline and Sarah. Eternally in love with my DG sisters xx

Kate, Director of Primary Recruitment
I realized DG was the place for me after meeting my big, Moeka, last year. My main motivation for going through recruitment was to find a community of women of color who could help me navigate the sometimes overwhelming social and academic landscape of Columbia. The moment I met Moeka, I knew she was meant to be my big. A talented dancer, brilliant student, and incredibly kind person, Mo was everything I was looking for. Through Mo and my grand big, Lucie, I found women who are not only mentors but dear friends. The night of big/little reveal, Mo lost her wallet, stifling our plans for a big night out. Lucie and I spent hours with Mo searching every spot we had been before the wallet disappeared. When our search was unsuccessful, we returned to my dorm lobby, where we talked for almost three hours, becoming closer as a linage. Even though our night didn’t go as planned, it was one of the best of my time at Columbia.

Larissa, Director of Recruitment Records
The moment I entered DG’s recruitment room my freshman year, I immediately fell in love with the chapter. I can now confidently say that becoming a DG was the best decision I have ever made. I have found the most hardworking, inspiring, and supportive girls who quickly became my role models and best friends. My little Mia and big Sophie are the best lineage I could ask for. I am so grateful for all of the friendships and opportunities that I have found in DG and know that they will no doubt last a lifetime <3

Kaya, President
By far, DG has been the best part of my college experience at Columbia. The events we do – whether totally casual or professional or fun – create so many wonderful ways to connect and spend time with one another during our college days. Our sisterhood is one of a kind. DG has helped me grow in my 4 years of college through its leadership opportunities, community involvement, professional support, fundraising for great causes and our genuine sisterhood that I know is always there for each other! I love DG so much – I am so grateful for this community – and I would rejoin DG a billion times over if I ever got teleported back to freshman year. <3
